WHO WE ARE

Kristen Vlietstra

Owner and CEO

Kristen has over 22 years of experience in saddle fitting and repair and 30 years of experience in the horse industry across the Western, Hunter/Jumper, Competitive Trail, Eventing and Dressage disciplines. While she has focused mainly on dressage recently, she has a wide range of experience in other facets of the horse world.

Saddle fitting can be an intimidating and complicated process that often leaves the customer confused and not sure if they have received the best information or achieved the best results.

Kristen’s mission is to make this process informative and as straightforward as possible. It is truly amazing the way that a properly fitted saddle can change your relationship with your horse and she would love to show you how we can do that together!

HOW WE MEET YOUR SADDLERY NEEDS:

1

We conduct a thorough ergonomic assessment of both horse and rider in order to determine the efficacy of your current equipment and to offer solutions to any saddle-related concerns. These one-on-one appointments take place either at your barn if you are in the Bay Area or during individual appointments during out-of-state clinics.

2

We travel with the tools needed to reflock the panels and adjust your saddle tree onsite. Most repairs and adjustments can be performed at the time of your consultation in order for you to test ride the results. For more involved adjustments and repairs, we also have a full stocked shop.

3

Based on assessment, we offer suggestions on both new and used saddles that would address your and your horses individual needs.

“The best thing I have done for my horse is have my saddles evaluated by Kristen. Kristen has a thorough knowledge of equine anatomy, and she is meticulous about evaluating how the saddle fits the horse and rider. I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience.”
